Frequently Asked Questions

Does it Hurt?

This is a question most people ask.  No, the needles are much thinner than the ones used for injections, in fact 30 acupuncture needles fit inside a regular needle used for injections.  However, if there are people who do not like needles we can treat them using the Japanese method of non-insertive needles.

How long is an appointment?

An acupuncture appointment can last between 45 and 60 minutes with initial visits ranging from 1.5-2 hours to allow the doctor to take a thorough health history.

When will I see results?

Results vary, some people see results after the first appointment.  Although, if the concern has been chronic it may take several appointments approximately 15-20 or more.

How much does a treatment cost?

We are unable to accept insurance at this time, we are in the process of being credentialed. Treatments will range from 90-350 depending on the treatment.  We have decided to temporarily lower prices to make health care more affordable during this time of inflation.  For now our prices will range from 75-120 dollars.

What does a treatment involve?

A treatment usually involves needles and a TDP lamp.  Sometimes the need for gua sha, cupping or moxa will be required to help enhance the treatment.

For approximately four months I was having vertigo every night, when I would lay down.  After one treatment of acupuncture with Dr. Wood, I only had two episodes in two weeks.  I received my second treatment of acupuncture and my vertigo disappeared completely.  It's been approximately two months since and no signs of vertigo have returned.  I'm so happy!
